New York City is a place that I have always wanted to go, it’s such a beautiful city and I do believe that is where your dream came true ❤️
I saw this picture with everything you would do in New York, I just thought it was perfect to share, specially if you’ve never been there and you always wish to see these beautiful things New York has to offer. Hopefully one day I will visit and make my dream come true.
The queue to enter this historic establishment snakes out the door and all the way down the street, but that wasn’t enough to put off a pastry lover like me on a recent visit to the Portuguese capital. This recipe may not beat the Belém version, but is easy to make and highly addictive.
Portuguese custard tart
- Makes 6
For the filling
- 3 egg yolks
- 125g caster sugar
- 2 tbsp cornflour
- 180ml milk
- 270ml double cream
- 1 tsp vanilla bean paste
For the pastry
- 2-3 tbsp caster sugar
- ½ tbsp ground cinnamon
- 175g all-butter puff pastry
Preheat the oven to 220C (200C fan). To make the filling, whisk the egg yolks with the sugar until pale, then incorporate the cornflour until you get a smooth paste. Heat the milk, cream and vanilla bean paste in a medium pan and bring to scalding point.
Add a splash of this to the egg yolk mixture, whisk vigorously, then incorporate the rest. Return the mixture to the pan and stir over a low heat until it thickens (this will take about 15 minutes). Do not let it boil or it will split. Cover with cling film touching the top of the surface (otherwise it will form a skin) and set aside to cool.
Dust the work surface with half the caster sugar and the cinnamon and roll out the pastry to a 15cm x 20cm rectangle. Dust with the remaining sugar and press it in with the rolling pin. Starting from the longer side closest to you, tightly roll up the pastry, then cut into six pieces. Take one piece and place it spiral side up in a hollow of a non-stick six-hole muffin tin. Use your thumb to push the dough outwards, evenly lining the base and sides. Repeat with the remaining pieces.
Add a spoonful of eggy custard to each hollow, leaving a 1cm gap at the top. Cook in the oven for 30 minutes or until the pastry is very crisp and the filling is puffy and slightly scorched. Remove from the tin and cool on a wire rack. Best eaten the same day.
I am sure you will love this Portuguse custard tart just as much as I love it too, ENJOY 😀
I love music and I have lots of favourite singers as well. I like to listen to all types of music and for a relaxing time I created this list with one of my favourite songs which I hope you will apreciate as much as I do.
1. SADE ADU
Sade’s music is just perfect and timeless for me. Her voice is like an angel. My favourite songs from her are:
- Sweetest taboo
- Smooth operator
- By your side
- Your love is king. Favourite album: Best of Sade
- Ordinary love
- Cherish the day
If you never listened to Sade before then I would say IT IS A MUST 😂 specially if you need to hear someone talking about love ❤️ !
2. LAURYN HILL
LAURYN Hill is a very talented singer and a very smart woman. I really love her music and she only released one solo album which wasTHE MISSEDUCATION OF LAURYN HILL she speaks about love like no one else.
I have always listened to Aaliyah’s songs, since I was very young till this day. She is one of my favourite singers of all time even though she is no longer here with us, her music is timeless and she is a true legend. She passed away at a very young age, she was only 22 years old. If you love RnB /HipHop music then you really should listen to her music.

Step 1 DRINK LOTS OF WATER! 💦
- If you don’t get enough water, your skin will start to become dehydrated and wrinkles will start to appear ( and yes we don’t want that).
Water also washes out toxins, which can contribute to acne and helps in cell regeneration.
- Include lots of vitamin-rich foods such as fruits, vegetables, fish, eggs, and whole grains can add defensive antioxidants to your body, resulting in clearer and brighten skin.
Avoid fatty, sugary or processed foods if you have a blemished prone skin.
Step 3. EXERCISE 🏋🏽⛹🏾🚴🏽
Regular exercise ( resulting in a good sweat) is not only beneficial to your figure, It is great for your skin as well.
- When you sweat, your pores open up, releasing dirt.
- Sweating also removes toxins from your body and helps cleaning your skin.
The exercises are performed by making various faces and smoothing with your fingertips. They really work.
Step 5. WASH WITH WARM WATER 💆🏽💦
Splashing your face with warm water can strip natural oils.
I hope these ideas are helpful for you and don’t forget
